East Harlem is mid-transformation, and 2005 3rd Avenue doesn't get to assume it belongs. At 209 units across 18 stories, the building has to hold several audiences at once: residents, neighbors, and the avenue itself, all moving past or through it every day. The shared spaces scale up without turning into spectacle, generous but never showy. From the library and co-working space through the café, garden, day lounge, spa, and pool, every room here was built to be used, not photographed.
